Daily Schedule for CU Denver Accelerated BSN?

Hello all,

I was hoping that someone currently in (or recently graduated from) the accelerated program at CU Denver could give me a little insight on what your day-to-day schedule is like, especially in the first semester. Are you in class all day 5 days a week or do you get breaks? I'm just trying to prepare myself for what to expect in January :-)

I started in June so my schedule was a bit different, but your first semester will have a total of four classes: Pathophysiology for the full 16 weeks (class for 3 hours one day per week), Pharmacology for the full 16 weeks (class 3 hours, one day per week). You will then also have Health Assessment which has an in class portion for 4 hours one day per week and a lab that is 4 hours long. This will be the first 8 weeks of the semester. The second 8 weeks, you will have Fundamentals of Nursing and that has a 4 hour class portion and a 5 hour lab. Depending on how you schedule your lab, you will probably be on campus 2 or three days per week. You will also have one 8 hour clinical for Health Assessment (on a weekend) and two 8 hour clinicals for Fundamentals (also on a weekiend)...both at University Hospital. The one thing that you should know is that you don't get a choice of when your in-class times are as there is only one section of the lecture classes but you do get to pick your lab. The Spring schedule isn't out yet (probably end of October). I hope that is helpful and not too confusing :-). If you have any questions, let me know...and congratulations!! Thank you so much for the great info! I've been waiting anxiously for them to send us info about classes, etc. so I'm happy to know a little bit about what it's going to be like! I'm really glad that you like the program so far...I can't wait to start in Jan!

Hey there, I was recently accepted in to the Summer 2012 accelerated program. I currently live in Fort Collins and was considering commuting depending on the schedule. Are classes held every day? Just trying to get a sense of whether it is realistic to commute or not. Any advice would be appreciated!
