Hi,

I am new here and am trying to get into nursing school in Colorado, however the wait lists here are crazy!!! I am looking into Concorde Career Institutes (they have no wait), ADN program. I wanted to know if this is a reputable program, and will it be looked at highly by employers?? Please help, my other option is Denver School of Nursing but they dont offer any student aid:o

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Do you know if you get your LPN from Concorde, can you do a bridge program at another school to get your RN? Like a community college??

Yes you can do a bridge program to a community college because they require you to have your LPN license to get in ,so you'll already have that after graduate concorde.

I do know you do have to take some prerequisites like A&P 1 and 2(concordes A&P 1 won't transfer I already tried) Microbiology, English and Algebra. All of which, exept the A&P 1, are classes that Concorde did not reqire you to take as part of the program , so you really dont get jipped out of anything as far as that goes.:nurse:

That is good to know. You can get your LPN, get a job, then work on your pre-reqs while waiting to get into a bridge program. How long is the LPN program? And I think it was answered before, but I just woke up and am being lazy....LOL....but about how much does it cost?

Concorde's LPN program is 5-ten week sessions and takes about 13? to 14? months, but someone like castilme who's attending the program can confirm that or give more details. Go in and talk to Concorde. No harm in finding out more info. They'll have you take a Wonderlic test, talk to a financial aid person (they do Stafford and Pell) and if you're interested in the program have you arrange to take the NET as well. I believe the LPN program starts every 3 months. I don't know if there is both a daytime program and an evening program. Again, someone already attending would have a better idea.

The program is 13 months. A brand new class starts every 10 weeks. It is 25,000.00 dollars:twocents:

No eve program at all ,you have to be able to commit to 8-3 monday thru friday and clinicals are 2 x a week and can range from 8 hour to 12 hour any shift weekends included. Mosty mine were 9 hour 6:30a to 3:30p. I did have to do 3 weekend days this whole time so far.

We had 10 people drop out of my class that started with 30 within the first 2 weeks, I will graduate with 15 people in my class that I origionally started with , so for some people the program was not easy .:nurse:

I am from the grad class of 09/03. I took my LPN there because I wasted to get into nursing and I did not want to wait. I though I could work through my RN or at lease get my job to pay for my RN class.

I will tell you I had NO fear walking in to take my NCLEX and I was shut off at 85 questions and pass on the only try. I had no fear starting my first job becasue the teachers made sure you knew what you needed to know and you are the best at doing your job.

When I went they were still in the talking phase of RN class. I have come back and spoken with Students as LPN and I will never forget my teachers they were great !,

Great program for LPN :))
