Arapahoe Community College CNA program

U.S.A. Colorado

Hi,

Does anyone know where the clinicals typically take place for the CNA program? And, if you are registered for the weekend section, what days and times were your clinicals?

Thank you.

Hi,

When I did my training at ACC, there were three types of placements: long-term care facility for 3 days (I did mine in Lakewood), hospital for 3 days (I did mine at Littleton adventist, but others went to Skyridge, Craigs, and Parker), and 2 days in hospice (in-home with Suncrest or Porter, that is your choice). I was registered in the Saturday morning class, and the clinical were only assigned on the weekend, unless you requested a day during the week. But you will have priority for the weekend clinical times. I was only days, but some students were scheduled evenings (hospital only).

Now, this is the way it was when I did my training and things can change, at any time. It depends on the availability of the locations. So, be prepared for anything, really.

Thank you so much for your response. And was it really from 8am-12pm every saturday for the semester? Just seems like a lot for a course that is done in 2-3 weeks in some places, LOL. Thank you!

Very often, we would finish before 12 p.m., and this schedule was for a few weeks (I can't remember well, but maybe 6-7 weeks?), until we started clinicals. Then, we came back in class a couple times to do some testings or reminders of skills we may have learnt in clinicals.
