Anyone waiting to hear from CU for Spring 2011

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi,

I applied for the January 2011 start time for University of Colorado School of Nursing...anyone also waiting to hear? I heard we will find out end of August!!

I am also waiting. I applied for the accelerate program that starts spring 2011. The dead line was July 15 and I haven't heard anything. Have you heard or received anything?

Hey! I talked to Connie because decision letters were suppose to be sent out at the end of August but she said that they are a little behind and decision letters will be sent out at the end of September. I applied for the traditional program.

OH, I applied to UCD not UC. But, acceptance letters won't be mailed tell late september

Just curious if any of you have heard anything from UCD for the Spring? I just applied for Summer '11..accelerated program; having to take Chemistry this semester...the latest prerequisite add on but they are still allowing us to apply now as long as all the other prereq's are completed. Good luck to everyone.

I am on pins and needles waiting, and if I don't get in I have 10 days to revamp my application for the Summer 2011 start date! :uhoh3:

Hi All--I'm also on pins and needles waiting to hear back from CU. I did call last week and spoke with Connie Washington, one of the Admission Specialist. She informed that letters would go out by 9/30. If I hear anything (or receive my letter), I'll be sure to post.

Hey all,

I just got my acceptance letter from UC-Denver!

I was hoping that they would put me in accelerated, but I was chosen for traditional. I remember on the application that the option was "BS-traditional and accelerated," but nowhere else on the app did it say to specify which I preferred. Was it really up to them to decide where to put accepted applicants, or did I totally miss some part on the app where I could say that I preferred Accelerated?

@ mrmandap. Congratulations on getting accepted. That's terrific news. I am still anxiously awaiting for my notification. You are absolutely correct about the application process with the traditional vs the accelerated-it was just one drop down menu that incorporated both. I definitely thought that was odd too. At the info session I went to I'm pretty sure she said there were only 15-20 spots for the accelerated so I have no idea how they pick. Are you considering any other programs? I'm currently signed up for the accelerated program at Regis which starts jan 2011 and lasts 12 months. I'm excited for it but would like to hear from cu too. Again, congrats to you!

@ kwilkoff

UCD was the only school I applied to, since I liked how the program started in January and I wouldn't have to wait until fall 2011. However, I must say I had a long list of schools I would have applied to, had I not gotten accepted to UCD, even if that meant waiting an extra semester to start. At least I'm saved from all that hassle :)

I must admit, I'm really scared of all this. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I know only one person who lives in Denver. It's unnerving to think that in 3 months, I'll be living in somewhere completely different and will be for the next 2 years.

Aside from that, congrats on Regis!

mrmandap.:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Huge Congratulations on your acceptance. The Denver area is a wonderful place to live; the mountains are absolutely gorgeous every time of the year. I think you'll love living here not to mention going to UCD.

I applied for the Summer 2011 semester; when I sent in my application there was a small drop down box that asked if you wanted Traditional or Fast-Track...I actually called to make sure Fast-Track meant Accelerated (which it did). I wonder if this is something they just added to the application.

Anyway, the best to you and again CONGRATULATIONS!

mrmandrap--

Denver is a truly wonderful place to live. I moved here in 1999 for undergrad and fell in love with it. The weather is almost perfect all year and the scenery is beautiful.

I did hear from CU today--I was accepted into the accelerated program!! I'm so very excited. Now, I have to decide between CU and Regis (both accelerated programs). Does anyone have any strong preference or words of advice between the two programs?

Thanks!
