How do you like it? What are the pros and cons for working as a county employee? Thanks!

Yes, I do. I just started about three weeks ago and I LOVE it so far.

Did you have hospital experience before this job or is have you always been in public health? I have an interview with the county next week and was wondering what are the pros and cons.

Yes, I have only worked inpatient prior to this job. It's been a bit of an adjustment going to an outpatient setting, but I love it. I love working with underserved populations.

I see some mountain counties constantly hiring, but they pay experienced nurses the same as city new grad pake when local cost of living is 25% higher and demand bilingual. I guess that's why they only keep employees for 6mo.
