Any NAU graduates?

I enrolled in NAUs nursing program because of the huge wait list for PPCC, but I'm concerned about their accreditation status. Once I finish the RN program, will I be eligible to sit for state boards, and will I be eligible for hire? This is all confusing to me as I have heard many different opinions about the NAU program. Thanks for any feed back you can give.

Are you in the program? Or are you doing the core classes? I wanted to hear what people think and also if they liked it there. I am going to a info session tomorrow to see what they are about.

I am currently in the foundational courses, and will be taking core classes in Dec of 2010 if I stick with them. The cost per credit hour is much higher than PPCC and I just found out that PPCC does not have a waiting list anymore. They are going to admit people like NAU: it will be based on your GPA of your 5 foundation classes, plus points for things like experience, CNA classes, etc. I would investigate both if I were you.

I'm at a Community College right now taking general courses and I talked with Brittany at NAU and I guess I would have to take the A&P 1 and 2, micro, and math I think. How much are the credits? I think I am paying the same because I'm not a resident, I just moved here in August. I wish I could go to PPCC but I live in Denver and it would take me a hour or more to get there and I can't do that. We have several NAUs back home and a ton of people are going there for Nursing. It seems like a pretty good school from what I hear.

That's good to hear that others are taking it and it seems to be a good program. I think the courses are $289 a credit hour. The foundational classes are A&P I and II, English Composition, Intermediate Algebra and Microbiology. I am almost done with A&P I and I start II in Dec. The only other issue one might have is that they are accelerated classes, so we did A&P I in a quarter as opposed to a semester. It becomes quite a challenge to have a lecture on a chapter on Monday, and then be tested on it the following week!

I went there today and signed up! I take A&P 1 on December 5th Saturday classes. I have to do those because I'm going back home for Christmas and the break happens to fall between the days I'm going home! I hope I do ok! Is the class hard? I'm scared for the Teas test that you have to take to get in! I'm soooooooooooooo horrible at taking those test!! But yet I can manage to have a 3.2 GPA. I feel like I have test issues or something!? I hope everything goes well for you!!

Where is NAU and do they have financial aid? What is the cost for the core classes? Thanks for any help.

The are located in Denver off of Colorado Blvd and the other is in Colorado Springs. They are 289 per credit for the core classes. I would go to google and type in NAU Denver and look at the website. I also would call and talk with them or even just go in and talk and tour. I saw Brittany. She is super nice!!! If you have any more questions just ask!

Thank you so much for the help. I have sent an email to them for some more information. This would be a great thing for me. I was getting discouraged by the waits at colleges closer to my home. I had actually looked at Concorde awhile back and was really uneasy about that choice. Any input from anyone on this school would be great. Thanks!!

Ok that Concorde school I do not trust at all! I went there and the lady was rude to me and talked bad about all the community colleges, and then I took the testing stuff and tested really bad on the math, and she asked me if I had a learning disability!! I was so upset, she made me feel like I wasn't good enough to go there. I read all the bad stuff about it on here and also I just googled in reviews on the school and all of them were bad except for one. I am so sick of waiting list and all the crap I am going through! NAU is my last resort and I liked how they treated me and I love there lab! One of the pts gives birth!!! The sim lab is crazy! Do you have all your courses done?

I am not quite done with my foundation classes. I am trying to take them locally and do the nursing program wherever. I am glad to hear about good experiences with this school.

I have a friend that is considering going there is there anyone who is IN the RN program there?
