Shadowing in Denver

Have any of you pre-nursing students been able to shadow a nurse. I am looking to do so - any department and any hospital. I have contacted many hospitals who are reluctant to allow me this opportunity - any suggestions??
Thanks

I wasn't able to. All of the HR depts cited HIPAA Regs as the reason I couldn't shadow, unless enrolled currently in a nursing program. I was like, "How am I supposed to know if nursing is right for me, if none of you will let me shadow a nurse?" To which they all replied, "Sorry".

Good luck to you.

I was in the same boat! totally insane that i couldn't shadow a nurse. you would think with said nursing shortage....but anyways..
However, I could shadow a doctor. No one gave him any grief about it. So strange how you can shadow a doctor but not a nurse! Kinda rules out the HIPPA argument.

Interesting. How did you arrange that? Was it in a hospital or office?
