New RN..need good nurse recruiter in Denver??

I will graduate this May, and I will move from Kansas to Denver. I have no student loans, and have worked really hard to not have any!

I want to find a great hospital to work at in Denver. I'm looking for a place with a good reputation where i can get good ICU experience. I also want a sign-on bonus. I know a lot of hospitals offer this, but I'm having a hard time finding them. I know many hospitals will pay off student loans, even though I don't have any...I'm broke after all this tuition out of pocket and I'd like a little cushion for my transfer into the Nursing world!

So, my question is: How do I find a nurse recruiter who can help me with these needs?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

If you find one, let me know. I have yet to hear of a sign on bonus for new grads.

...yea, me too!

Especially Denver; where grad nurses are a dime a dozen. You're not out of the woods yet my friend

I agree with the previous post.....no shortage of new grad RN's in Denver. The sign on bonuses only go to EXPERIENCED nurses.

Default So if New grads are a dime a dozen does that mean..
it is hard to find a job as a new grad or just that sign on bonuses are not readily available?

Thanks in advance for any reply!

Both

Actually, I'm in the process of moving up to Denver and I've been talking to nurse recruiters from 4 different hospitals in the local Downtown area. A few said don't even bother if I don't have my BSN let alone experience.

Most hospitals do mass hires two (maybe three) times per year.

I have been a medic for Florida Hospital for 5 years and have two AS degrees. One in EMS and the other in Nursing. I'm banking that this will make me more "marketable."

As far as nursing is concerend, "experience" is the key. It is only then that the doors open up and you can essentially go anywhere you please.

Hope that helps and God speed in aquiring a job my friend

Default Interesting..anyone else have the same take on this..
Here in CO springs the need is HUGE and from what I hear they hire NEW grads all the time..I wonder if it is different in Denver..I went to the Denver health site after reading your reply and saw they have a new grad program and they have 15 pages worth of RN positions open..around 100 nurses needed..some say 1-2 years experience is needed but many say it's preferred but does not appear to be, "a deal breaker." this is the first I have heard of people having problems due to being a new grad..most hospitals appear to have new grad programs and I know at least one new grad who got hired as soon as they passed the NCLEX..it was at Denver health..

Thanks for the reply and take care..hope you find a job ASAP!!
