December as well! Since I'm going to take Pathophysiology to get that out of the way, it's only offered online in the summer and I really think that's something I should be taking in person. Will you be able to take it before you start? My friend who's at DSON now HIGHLY recommended I do that! Do you know which Algebra they count, is the highest one, College Algebra or does the one before that suffice? If it's College Algebra, then I'll be taking that and Statistics in the summer. I was going to maybe start in October, but since she really recommends taking Pathophysiology I thought I'd do that and get a little bit of a break before the intesity starts. ;-) Taking one class is a break for me. LOL So we'll be starting together in January!!!

She did recommend taking Pathophysiology before I start if I can. I'm going to ask admissions about that. She said 5 or 6 girls took it before and had a much better start than the rest of them since they didn't have to take it. I see CCCOnline offers it and so does ACC, so hopefully we can do that and plus we'll save some money. ;-)

bfrdncr41 - thanks so much for the info, good luck to you too!

Who is your friend? I was one of the group of 6 that took patho before and my first quarter was much less stressful that's for sure.

Yes you need to take College Algebra, I think it's Math 121 at the community college level?

I am taking 4 classes in the fall...maybe I can squeeze in patho... not like I really need a life or anything. The kids are old enough they can feed themselves, lol. I'll be taking it along with algebra and stats, oh joy.

bfrdncr41 - Oh wow, how funny! Where did you take it? I'm considering possibly taking it this summer so I can start in October, however I really feel like it's an important class that I should take in person, not online, what do you think? If I do spread it out and start in January, I'm debating whether to take Algebra and Statistics this summer so I can take Pathophysiology alone, what do you think? Which do you think would be better to take with it if I went that route?

Sand_Dollar - wow 4 classes...so glad this is my last semester with 4 classes...until DSN that is! ;-) I took Micro and AP2 and 2 other classes last semester, that was brutal! How old are your kids? I have a 15yo son...hopefully they remember us after school is over. lol

Thanks ladies!!!

I took patho in CA b/c I was still living there at that point. I took stats at the same time and did well in both classes, but patho is definitely a VERY important class. If you can I would take it by itself. I would also take it in a classroom and for the full duration and not a summer session.

Thanks so much! Where in CA did you live? I'm from SF originally. I've been here for about 5 years tho, what's the nursing school situation like out there?

I'm from Orange County. The wait lists are insane there and the bachelor's programs have about 900 people applying for 40 spots. I didn't want to wait any longer and had always wanted to live in Denver. It all worked out well for me. Good luck to you!
