Military spouses--Career Advancement Account=free money for school!

by robynv

I just found out about this new program! if you plan to graduate by 2010 you can get $3000 (or up to) per year. It is a test program offered to active duty spouses in only 5 states. it offers free money to a few diffrent career fields health care being one of them. i am doing pre reqs now but i may have time to get my LPN by then. But if I don't have to pay this money back I am all for it.

There is a meeting on May 20 at 1.00 pm at the Peterson Education office.

Hi, I am also a military wife. I am starting my RN refresher course soon. Do you know if this financial assistance helps with that? Also, when I checked last, money was only available for 0-3 and below. Do you know if this can be used by 0-4 and above? Do you have anymore info on the information session coming up? A phone number to call? Thanks!!

Yep it is for anyone. I'm a spouse of an Lt. Col and the woman on the phone told me even a Gen.'s wife would be there. I 'll have to get the number later as I'm at school now. But call the Peterson education office and they can point you in the right direction.

I just called. I am not eligible because my husband is stationed at Buckley AFB. My name is on a list if that changes. Thanks for the help!
