Info on Denver School of Nursing

The NCLEX pass rates were: 06 - 72.1%; 07 - 93.6%; 08 -82.8%
The Tuition is about 35k for ADN and 40 for BSN
Look on the Colorado board or do a search on allnurses for Denver School of Nursing. It is a good school. In fact I was just talking with a friend who works at Children's Hospital in Denver and says many of the nurses are from DSN and they are good.

If all my plans work out (my hubby doesn't have to travel for a while) then I will hopefully be in the Jan 2010 cohort and graduate with my BSN in the fall of 2011.

Your welcome Russsfo, just FYI, DSN has just gotten their accreditation, so more federal loans will be available. Thank goodness because private loans are a killer!

they have accreditation through career schools and schools of technology...they are not accredited with either national nursing accreditation agencies.

Right, I understand that furrie. Their accreditation is through ACCSCT which is a federally sanctioned accrediting board. So therefore with this accreditation DSN students can now get federal grants and loans. Are you a DSN student furrie?

The downside is until they get the NLN accreditation, the BSN won't be accepted for application at NP or other master's level programs. So if that is something you are considering, you need to include that in your decision.

This is true and something to consider. You are also not considered for employment at University of Colorado Hospital or the VA until the NLN accreditation is obtained. I can tell you I go to school here and have faith they will obtain this accreditation by the time I graduate (Sept 2010). Good luck with your decision.
