How long is the waitlist @ ACC

Does anyone know how long (years) the wait list is at ACC for the nursing program? I still have prereqs to get taken care of and am curious at to how long after I complete these prereqs that I will be waiting to get into the nursing program here.

Thanks!!

I started at ACC in 2002 and got all my pre-req's done in 2003 to apply for the program. Its now 2005 and I'm still not in the program yet. My waitlist number is 508 and I believe they are finally up to the 300's...so I'm hoping next fall I will get in. I'm currently doing pre-req's to transfer to CU Health Science Center while I wait. What I've planned is if I get in at ACC before I'm done with my pre-req's for CU, I'll just go into the ACC program if not I'm going straight to CU and get my BSN.

Don't give up hope I would prefer to get into the program at ACC because I hear they have the best overall graduation rate and passing rate of any school. They also go through close to 100 applicants each semester whom have decided not to go to school there. So hope that cushions the blow a bit better. They just implemented a new system so now its alot more organized than it was...hopefully this will make things move faster...

Hope that helps

I'm sorry but I'm a little confused - ACC? Which college is this? We have an ACC (Austin Community College) here that has a rediculous wait list but I can't tell if it's the same one... Unfortunately it's also the one I'm planning on applying to!!l

Thanks!!

OK just kidding! I just saw the other posts about ACC - pardon my confusion!!

Thanks for the information! I really appreciate it. You've been waiting a while. I kind of figured once I got the prereqs done it would be about a two year wait to get into the nursing school--maybe I underestimated that! Oh Boy!!! Well I guess in the long run it will be worth the wait. I was thinking also that with more students possibly going to the Denver School of Nursing, maybe that will make the wait list move faster--wishful thinking?! I hope you get in next fall. Good luck with all your studies!

Yeah I have been waiting for quite some time Just decided to check into the ccc website and noticed they have changed a few things. So looks as though I am getting closer :hatparty:

Yeah I hear alot of people are appling to the Denver school of nursing but reading their website it sounds like they aren't quite accredited yet. Don't want to waste my money on something that may or may not give me a vaid degree. But hey...that's just my opinion.

Good luck!

I just applied for the nursing program, so it looks like I have a long wait (at ACC) besides doing the pre-eqs what else should I do for the remainder of the waitlist??

I just got into the nursing program at ACC this year, what I did in the remainder of my wait time was take things that could be transfered to a 4 yr school like University of Colorado Health Science Center. I figured if I'm waiting to get in I might as well do prereq's to get my BSN later. So by the time I'm done with getting my RN, I can turn around and go to UCHSC and do their online RN to BSN program.
