DSON Students: What kind of steth do you have?

I am trying to pick a stethoscope for nursing school, and I wanted to see which steth most students have. Also, are you allowed to have a a steth with a single head, or do you have to have one with a bell? Thanks!

You will want to get a nice stethoscope! Most students get a Littmann brand stethoscope. You will also need one with a diaphragm and bell for your first quarter. You will start during that quarter listening to both high and low frequency sounds! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info! So even if I get a stethoscope like a littman master classic II (with a tunable diaphram for high and low frequency sounds) that won't cut it for the first quarter? Thats a bummer!

I think you will be fine with that stethoscope because you can can hear both. The only problems I knew about were of students that got a cheap stethoscope that they could not hear both on!
