Regarding the prereqs, I just need to take A and P 1in April and A and P 2 in July then start NS October 09 in DSON. I was wondering about the difference in difficulty between taking these classes in DSON or Community college of Denver. Does anyone know or have an idea? I know it'll be cheaper with CCD...

I'm in the same boat as you. Trying to start in October, taking A&P 1 this semester, then A&P 2 over the summer at Front Range.

I don't think you can take prereqs at DSN, I think you have to have those done before you apply. The school's not all that big, so I don't think they have room for the labs and all that.

Good luck! Maybe I'll see you in October.

depending on which track you're going for depends on if you have to have all the pre-req's done by the time you apply. I'm applying for oct ADN and they told me that they aren't even accepting applications/HESI tests until april 09 but i'm going to have one class to complete this summer and they said that was ok as long as it ends before nursing school would begin. i'm flying out there for a long weekend in april for the test and everything.

i'm assuming that for the other tracks you may have to have them all done? their admissions office seems really helpful...which is a change from here in NC!

good luck!

Actually, I went to the school and talked with someone for a Q n A session. They DO have the general prereqs. A and P 1 and 2 as well. I was too late to take AP1 this month so I'll have to take it in April. It'll be more expensive than a community college but it'll be shorter (11 wks) I'll try to take the entrance exam soon. Yes, hope to see you in October!

Hi,

I know this is a bit of topic but I am just trying to find out any info I can. I got into Metropolitan State College of Denver for April 2009. I was wondering if any of you know anything about the school. I haven't been able to find anyone on the forum but I assume if you are from Denver maybe you know somebody that went there or know something about their reputation.

Thanks so much

Hey...Does anyone know how long Denver Nursing Schools program is. I already have my Bachelors and all prereq;s done. The website makes it look like its 7 months but not sure if i buy that. Also I am from CT does anyone know if the admissions test can be taken in other states? Thanks!!

The upper division Bachelors program for people with pre-reqs done and/or people with a previous bachelors is 21 months. The only core nursing class that transfers is pathophysio, and that just makes the first quarter a lighter load. There are seven quarters which are 11 weeks long with 2 weeks between each quarter. The ADN program is 1 quarter less, but you take fewer units each quarter as well. You can take the HESI in other states, but I had to fly out to Denver for my interview anyways so I took the HESI the same day. Hope that helps!

Hi,

I recently graduated from DSN, so if there is anything I can help you with just let me know.
