Denver School of Nursing- Entrance Exam

I'm taking the entrance exam for DSON at the end of December. I'm guessing its the basics, but if you've taken it can you tell me a little more about it??
Passing this test (atleast 70%) and having all your pre-reqs seems to be all they want as far as getting accepted.

Do you live in Denver? My husband and I are coming from California and wondering where the most convenient places to live near the school. How was the interview? I am still waiting to hear back about my application, but I am wondering when they want to interview me. I might have to fly out for the interview and then drive out with my husband to move in Feb/March.
I was just wondering what other DSN students have done to make the move to Denver. Sorry for all the Q's and thanks!

Hey, no problem, I am happy to answer questions! I am actually in California too! I flew out to Denver and took the hesi and had my interview on the same day. My husband is a customs officer and we will probably live in boulder because he will work at the airport. Boulder is pretty much in between the airport and DSON. There are a lot of nice towns though that are pretty close (if you don't want to live downtown). We will fly out in feb to find a place and move the week before the quarter starts (the 29th and 30th of march).

If your husband's going to work at DIA, I'd reconsider living in Boulder. DIA is east of Denver and Boulder is west/northwest of Denver. The commute to DIA from Boulder is almost 90 miles round trip taking the toll road, and takes about an hour during rush hours. Commuting to Boulder to Denver isn't a piece of cake either...the traffic on 36/I-25 is horrible! I live in Broomfield which is halfway between Denver and Boulder and still dread the commute into Denver.

Real estate prices in Boulder are outrageous too.

I'd find a decent suburb of Denver that you're happy with and go from there. Like I said, I'm in Broomfield & although the commute still stinks sometimes, it's a lot closer than Boulder. I can make it to the airport in 30 minutes from here too.

Ah, Brighton is MUCH closer.

My wife and I were looking at houses in Brighton because you get a lot more house for the money out there. It's definitely closer to DIA for you guys, but you'll still have to deal with I-25 into Denver. Really, though, there's no good way into Denver unless you live close already.

When are you starting at DSN? I'm still doing prerequisites right now & looking to start in October.

DSON sent me the enrollment agreement today!! So excited and scared!! Now I am wondering how to pay for a $40,000 tuition?! Are you getting a Sallie Mae Loan or doing a student payment plan (I still need to get the exact monthly figures on that, wondering if you had them by chance?). Either way, I am going to make it work. I can't believe I'm starting nursing school in 3 months! YAY!
