Denver OR Nurses Help!!!

If you are an OR nurse in Denver (or feel confident answering) can you tell me how easy/hard/impossible it is to get hired into an OR RN position at a Denver hospital as a new grad, BSN or otherwise?

I have gotten VERY different answers on the subject and I have a hard time getting ahold of the recruiters (they don't seem too interested in talking to you if you are not applying right now). If you know of new grads in your department starting in the OR (or don't), could you please let me know and tell me what hospital you have knowledge about?

Thanks a lot!

I know of new grad RNs being hired right out of school into the OR at Porter, Denver Health, and North Colorado Medical Center. I'm not sure how common/uncommon it is but I do know it can happen. Maybe you can try to get your Senior Integrated Practicum in the OR of the hospital you'd like to work at (it's not uncommon for students to be hired by the floor where they do their SIP).

Good luck!

thanks a lot for your help. that was the sort of concrete info i was looking for. and plus two of those are top choices for where i'd like to work. i will definitely look into doing my SIP in the OR or the surgery department.
