Colorado Wait Lists?

I tried to ask my advisor at my college about wait lists in colorado today, but he didn't seem to interested in talking to me (I'm switching advisors!)

I'm curious about how long wait lists are in Colorado in general?

I'm looking at Pueblo Community College specifically, although could commute if it's worth it!

Waitlist time is about 3 years and there is still no gaurantee you will get a seat then either. My husband decided to change careers and go into nursing. We had to move back to Chicago from Colorado so he could go to school here. We just couldn't put our lives on hold that long without any gaurantees. Alot of people wind up getting degrees in something else or giving up all together while sitting on waiting lists in Colorado if they even have a list. Some of the colleges have lotterys and all kinds of gambles. The backup in nursing schools is nationwide but Colorado is one of the worst. Good luck.

Thanks for the info!

I've been trying to find out specifically about Pueblo (Both PCC and CSU-Pueblo) but there really isn't much information out there, and the nursing instructors are on vacation

I have heard that PPCC has a shorter wait time than anywhere in the Denver area. I was on the waitlist for the LPN program there and ended up going to DSON. I had left myself on the waitlist at PPCC and was notified this summer that I got into the PPCC LPN program- I was on the waitlist there for about a year. Hope that helps!

I think PCC is a great school. The Fremont Campus has a great pass rate. Last year was the first year they had to turn people down for the program. there are 24 slots each year and only about 20 people apply until last year. anyway, I would check into both Pueblo Community College Pueblo campus and Fremont campus. you can apply for both with 1 application.

CSU Pueblo didn't have a wait list last year, but their pass rate is kind of low. So, I would check that out before committing to that school.

The Fremont campus is in Canon City about 35 miles from Pueblo. We actually have clinicals in Pueblo.

Default Re: Colorado Wait Lists?
I'm currently at Mesa State in Grand Junction and they don't have a wait list for the BSN program, they take applicants every semster and then clear the slate for the next round of applicants. There are quite a few people that have turned in multiple apps that haven't gotten in. I'm hoping and praying that I get in within the first two semesters of applying. Anyone have advice on how to get a better chance of getting in that's in the program?
