Re: Anyone nervous as heck about school and clinicals?
I just graduated nursing school (BS in Nursing). I know exactly how all of you feel. My best advice is to stick with it and like the saying goes...this too shall pass. I cannot even believe that I am done. It truly is a blessing. I have completed one part of my education and am now trying to study for the NCLEX!! GOD HELP ME!
You are going to have good professors that may motivate you to learn and yes there are some professors who have an inferiority complex causing things to be more difficult than what they are. Just stick to your guns and set your mind to it and when you finish your sequence of courses you can go back and rub it in their faces.
Listen to your other colleagues from school on who to register for and who to stay away from.
Do all of your papers before they are due (not two days before) to avoid the stress.
Start reviewing the material from the first lecture. Just read your notes and try to understand them not just memorize (I battled with this until I graduated). If you do this then studying for the exam will not be one huge cram session.
Leave your ego at the door when you enter the classroom and help all of your colleagues and they too will help you. Beware of the users I must warn you. In my school, many of the students thought they were genius' because of their high GPA's that is until they took their first exam and bombed!

Everyone received a major reality check. After that exam many of them realized that they needed to ban together with other students to make itthrough and study.
Do not make comments about anyone to anybody in your program. Remember those who bring a sack leave with two filled.
Remember, it is ok to cry. I did and it made me feel a whole lot better. I also learned by my third semester that I was more important than the book and began making time for myself which was something i stopped doing once I entered the program. Try to mix some leisure activities with studying and YES IT IS POSSIBLE. All work and no play makes Jane/Jack a dull boy or girl.
Most of all..... Good Luck to all of you !!!
