mtnmedic - that's awesome tho! Who do you have? I did the hybrid A&P's and Micro there. All of my other classes I've done at Red Rocks, I LOVE it there!

I want to take Patho online too...but the problem is, if I get into the october session, then, there's not point in taking it....I hope I get into the october session so that I get the lower tuition since it raises a couple thousand in Jan. I got my book and acceptance letter too...

Thanks for letting me know about patho online! I had no idea I could do that. Hopefully I can get that figured out and registered before classes start!

RNtwoBe- I heard of DSN when I did a search of colleges that offer a second degree BSN program. I choose a few states I would be interested to live in, that way I would have more options of programs to apply to. I just graduated and wanted to start in January, so DSN was one of the only schools I was looking at that had this option. After meeting everyone and going to Denver I fell in love with it and am soooo excited to start! Is DSN well known in Denver?

I just finished A&P1 with Terry as the "online" instructor and Judy for the lab once a week. My only complaint is that the online part was that you are basically on your own. There were some PowerPoint, study guides and some other stuff but mostly you have to be pretty self sufficient. I am taking A&P 2 in the fall, so since I am in, I dont feel any great stress to get an A like I did with A&P1. The benefit though as long as you stay on top of everything, it wasn't that hard. I imagine that Patho is much the same. I've briefly considered taking Patho at the same time at A&P 2 to get it over with, but I guess I'll just deal with it at DSN like everyone else.

You are so lucky you didn't have Terry for lab! I HATED him!!! I did the hybrid too, but I had him for everything. One day we had a sub, she was AWESOME, we all did so much better on that test than any other after her class. Terry was such a jerk, not helpful, how is he the biology chair?!?! I've heard great things about Jodi Johnson, she teaches the Patho class, so I'm excited! You should see if you might be able to fit it in. Maybe email her and ask to check out a syllabus to see. A&P2 is MUCH easier than A&P1 in my opinion.

Good luck, YAY for all of us! he-he

Yeah, I can agree that terry is a bit of an ass. he doesn't reply to emails. I had to go over his head on something related to the Blackboard Vista and I feel it cost me a few points. Oh well. When i went to a review that he did, i found him to be a much better instructor that Judy. But I have him as the instructor for both the online lecture and lab for A&P2. I know, I Know, i should maybe at least try to take Patho at the same time. I guess worst comes to worst is I take it, fail it (which I doubt i could do) and then just take it at DSN.

I'm not going to DSN but I wanted to comment about the hybrid A&P I took A&P 2 last year and I had Terry and he was awful in lab. My guess is he's the bio chair because he's better administratively than as a teacher, he certainly can't be any worse. We had subs twice (Jodi Johnson one time and someone else another time) and they were so much better.

I also had Jodi for genetics (on-line) and she was very good with that class.

I just wanted to let you guys know I am currently in my 3rd quarter and have had a good experience with DSN's BSN program. I just finished my Med/Surg I clinicals and was told we were some of the best students they have ever had. (They have had CU and Regis students at the facility also). Good luck!

Hi brfdncrf1,

I will be joining DSON in either Oct. or Jan. and I was wondering if we need to buy books and scrubs on our own or if the school provides it since they have charged us for it in the tuition. If the school provides it then do we get them during orientation??

Dennis88 - OMG that is hilarious, yes Terry couldn't have been any worse as a teacher. I just had Jodi for my first Patho class today, she's awesome! Hopefully the class won't be "too" hard!

bfrdncr41 - that is so wonderful to hear! I had really wanted to go to CU, but it just doesn't work with the timeframe I'm looking for, so it's so great to know DSN is doing such a great job preparing you guys!!! Can you give me an idea of your class/clinical schedule this quarter? Thanks so much!
