Registered Nurse in Florida, UFCW LOCAL 1625

Hello to Halifax Hospital: I work in Cardiac Intervention at another Medical Center in Florida. I am a nurse and have worked there for a very large number of years. We are represented by UFCW Local 1625 and are very happy with them.
We campaign in Tallahassee for Staffing Ratios in Florida every March, if we can get enough RNs to go. Union RNs are going to come to meeting, in Daytona, sometime in September. We will notify you by mail and handbilling.
I know its hard to think about what to do, but if you do nothing at all, what is going to be next on the agenda for your workplace?
At least, with a Union, you get to negotiate changes.
You do have a degree and were trained to use critical thinking skills, I encourage you and all the other RNs to come and see for yourself. We will have a cross sampling of RNs and LPNs from two hospitals there for you to talk with. You get to ask any questions you would like and hear from us what happens.
I hope to see you at the information meetings soon.

Has the union helped with staffing ratios at your hospital? The issue of safe nurseatient ratios is the most important reason we nurses at halifax would consider the union.
