A nursing assistant is a nursing assistant. A certified nursing assistant is a nursing assistant that is certified by the state. So, yes, you still are a nursing assistant. Unless, of course, the state tells you that you can not work as a nursing assistant anymore. However, some states REQUIRE nursing assistants to be certified in order to work, others don't.
