what was your starting salary as a ..................

My first job paid only 7.50...but this was in a very small, low income town in Indiana.


I'm still in a small town in IN, but the facility I'm at now starts you out at about $10 an hour. If I remember correctly from past discussions, I think you can expect to start out somewhere between 10-15 /hour in NY.

I live in MO and my NA pay was $7.15. Then I got certified and have just put in my first two weeks at $8.80. I work in a LTC facility.

As a New Hire I`m looking at 10.20/hr on nights with no experience as a PCT in a hospital. Would be $9.20/hr on days, however left a job making $12/hr after 10 yrs. Yes Walmart, & Sams clubs pay that bad after 10 yrs of service ><

I made 11.53 right after my cna class. That was when i was certified though.

12 and change right after certification .... in PA

When I first became a CNA working for a home health agency I started making $10.50/HR. CNA positions at the largest hospital in my state start CNA's at 13.39/HR (plus differentials for 2nd shift, 3rd shift and weekends). Oh and this is in RI btw...

I am making 9 an hour at an ALF with no shift diff. I'm in Orlando and I dunno but it seems kind of low. I'm thinking I may keep looking. Oh plus I'm full time and they keep giving me part time hours. Hmm

mine was 10.60
but i had previous trauma/ortho experience
get into hospital work or agency work it pays better

i make now around 12.95 on weekdays
and 13.50 on the weekends
but that is agency work and i have been there 5 years

if your a STNA and certified dont settle for less than 9.00 or your getting
ripped off , you paid good money to have that degree
and you deserve a higher pay

if you are not certified they can slap 7.00 at you and you cant do anything about it
State Certification espically in Ohio is a must
and eventully it will be mandatory for the patients quality care and safety
do it not just for you but your patients
and you will gain confidence with it too
