In MD our final exam counts as a CNA competency test. However if you plan on working in an LTC you have to be licensed as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant. Anyways we had both written & practical. The written test was I think 60 or 70 q's. Then on practical I had:handwashing, count respirations, clean dentures, administer bedpan, & feed pt. who cannot feed self

We all had the same stuff. And the person who gave us the test was one of our clinical instructors, so she'd already seen us in action for a lot of stuff. We got hand washing, TPR, ROM (different body parts though), and the other 2 skills were whatever she popped in for during clinical. Like you'd be getting ready to give someone a bed bath and she'd come in and watch the whole time and afterward she'd tell you that was your skill. lol.

Where are you located where they just gave you a written exam?

I had handwashing of course, range of motion on left sholder, catheter care and urinary drainage. All pretty easy- except being nervous of course!

Just passed my state certification today (North Carolina)!!!

I got: handwashing, respirations, change position (side), dress client with affected right arm, and cleaning dentures. Pretty easy. I was all worked up for nothing.

I just passed yesterday. I'm in CA.

I had:

60 question test
handwashing

my friend got easy skills too:

ambulate using gait belt
dress pt with paralysis on one side

I'm so glad to be done, I was worried I'd have to do blood pressure!

I am in NJ and I just had my test this past Friday. I had

1) Handwashing
2) Weight of Ambulatory Resident
3) ROM - Knee & Ankle
4) Cleans Upper or Lower Denture
5) Foot Care

For me, foot care was the hardest because it was the most involved, but it wasn't that bad. Now I just have to wait the couple of weeks to hear the results!! Ahhh the waiting is going to drive me nuts!

i had handwashing, ROM-hip & knee, ambulation with a walker, female peri care, and denture care. plus a written test.

for me the hard part was the skills test because i was nervous about missing a step. the written test for me was easy. but everything turned out ok in the end.
