by DTCC PreRN Premium Member

Hi everyone,

Anyone here from NC who knows where CNA classes are offered on the weekend?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

For anyone in the Durham, NC area looking for an alternative to weekday classes; here's what I've found out. Nursing/Rest homes no longer offer CNA training. I called every last one of them.

The good news: Peidmont Community College in Roxboro offers a weekend CNA course. It lasts for 15 weeks. Wooohooo!! Sign me up!

I can't help you in St. Louis. So sorry. I feel your pain.

I found out that if I had my first clinical class done, BJC would help me get my certification. So I may have to wait and do that. Only problem was I wanted to do it now for the job as well, not a year or so from now. I wanted to take advantage of tuition reinbursement for the nursing classes.

If we have family here, it would be much easier for me to go daytime hours and homeschool in the evening or have my daughter take her schoolwork with her.

No I never did. I decided to go another route in healthcare. I'm beginning a medical transcription program. After a couple years of that, my daughter will finishing highschool and I may go forward in medical office assisting and/or a bachelor's in healthcare management.

Nursing still interests me a lot, but it's next to impossible for me to take classes on campus and hard to afford even with loans since I've got student loans in the past.
