Update on CNA Training

Hi all!

Just wanted to update you on the CNA training I've been checking out. I was going to go with the Red Cross, but the one closest to me that offered NA training required you attend M-F, from 8-4:30 for about 5 weeks. I'm working, so would have to have given up my job. Even though it's part time work, it's money that I need to pay for things such as school, bills, etc.

Anyway, there's an Adult Ed School that offers the CNA M-Thu from 8:30-12:30, and that is ideal since I'll still be able to keep my part time job and work afternoons. Then I'll have evenings to study while take the classes. I've already registered for their informational meeting which is on September 1st for and last 3 hours. We'll need to take a written test on English proficiency, and need to present ID and fill out various forms. The classes begin two weeks after this meeting. What's nice about this school is that they also offer the HHA, Acute Care, and Restorative Nursing Aide classes if you want to continue after certification.

Thank you all again for your previous pointers, advice and such. I really have been mulling this over for a long time, reading the posts, and praying for guidance. I really want to make a difference in people's lives, providing them with good health care. I know there will be a lot of ups and downs, good days and bad days, and unpredictable people and such. But I just have such a yearning and longing to do this!!
