Things That Burn Your ***

Right now it's our snotty 3rd shift aides who yelled at me because during their 1st rounds one night a man's brief was dry and his pad was wet. They tried telling me that I just put a brief on him over his wet pad (???? yeah OKAY). I always wash him early but don't put him to bed till 10pm (our last rounds) after one final trip to the bathroom, and he was dry so I left the brief on him. He's always playing with himself down there so he must have taken it out and peed.

They always get ***** if someone is wet when they come in. When WE come in, people are wet from first shift and no one makes a big deal about it because INCONTINENT PEOPLE DON'T PEE ON A SCHEDULE! I'm sick of reporting off to these unpleasant aides and their bad attitudes.

For some reason a big thing of mine is leaving trays in a room for hours. On day shift 2 people are supposed to pick up trays and one person charts consumption. All trays have to be off the hall before we can go to break. Most of the time I have to chart (no big deal) but the other 2 always come up to me and say "well all the trays are picked up, we're going to break" again no problem. But then on 2nd shift (I work doubles when I work) I'll see like 5 trays that they left on the hall just so they could run outside! Then the kitchen staff is mad at me when I carry all these trays up front.

And another BIG one is when people clock in but sit at the nurses station B****in about which hall they're on so you can't leave but the next morning when you come in to let them off they are out the door, whithout giving report, or before everyone is on the hall. (a bunch of us work 12-16 hour shifts so we releive each other every time we work) I mean after a 16 hour shift I'm ready to leave and I rather do it on time than 20 minutes after you were supposed to be over here!

PS- those same 2 girls who are always late, also always complain about people being wet but in the mornings people will be soaked and their excuse is "People can pee anytime, we just changed them" UGHHHHHHH!!!!!

It's almost impossible to have a dozen incontinent people changed and dry all at the same time for the next shift... that's the goal, but it always seems just as you finish up you might as well just start all over again!! This is where the teamwork comes in.

I know what you mean about third shift aides! Ours complain about everything. If I find a wet resident, I change them, I don't complain like a three year old!

Amen to that! I always hated that and at one time had a CNA follow me to the laundry room and proceed to b**** me out about a woman that was wet. FFS! I had just changed her and besides, this particular aide was 10 minutes late for report. I told her in no uncertain terms was I going to change this lady again. The aide threatened me and said she knew karate and would throw me out of the building!!! I just laughed and told her I would like to see her scrawny a@@ throw my fat a@@ out the door Some people just get under your skin and I actually think they like acting like total pinheads!

wow i am having the same problem at my facility. I got chewed out the other night because, 2 residents were wet. I said i just changed them an hour ago! The 11-7 shift are ****** also when they come in. 3 people told me that night about the residents being wet i said, i was already told that 3x before you i know!

It is hard making sure all 12 residents are dry at the same time and i'm new to the field so, i was ****** being told 3x within a 20 min span!

When i come in and i change the residents before dinner you can tell they weren't changed all day! Their diapers are comsumed with HOURS of pee!

Yeah we also get yelled at if the residents' rooms aren't arranged the way 3rd shift likes. ie Some like the bedside table at the foot of the bed, some like it on the side, etc. It's like, so fix it yourself! It's not a rule that we have to have these things in whatever order you want them, it's a personal preference!

I also hate when my coworkers try to run off all the new people. It'll be like someones 2nd day and they be complaining about how slow they are and how stupid they are. UGHHHH. I just want to yell at them "you guys are the reason we never have enough aides!!!!!" Then of course when they get called in because we dont have enough help they complain about how we should hire more people!!!

And why does everyone have to pee just as soon as the other aide goes on break?? And then they starte daggers at me when I tell them that I can't do it by myself. I mean- I'm sorry you're a 2 assist-kill me why don't ya!
