Taking CNA classes while pregnant?

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. I am thinking of taking CNA classes now, and maybe starting to work after the baby comes (I am due in January, but wouldn't plan on working until about April.)

The reason I was thinking of taking classes now is because my dh is a baseball coach, so he is busy all spring, and schedules are a bit hectic.

My question is this: how physically demanding is it to take classes for CNA? I know the classroom part should be fine, but I am worried about clinicals- how many hours do the clinicals make up? Is there a lot of lifting? I am considered high risk, so I have to be cautious of how much lifting I do. (I have GD, placenta previa, and a history of pre-term labor.)

My next time I could take classes wouldn't be until next summer, and I am anxious to start before then, but obviously don't want to pose any health risks to myself or the baby.

Any advice is greatly appreciated- thanks everyone!
Lisa

I would wait until after you have your baby... only becuase in most CNA courses when you take care of patients you are alwaysss having to move and lift them all the time, some patients are light, while some are pretty heavy to move and cant help themselves move very much either so its like lifting dead weight

so i would just wait, if you cant do any lifting then it wouldnt be smart to do it now, but when you can for sure do it being a CNA is great!

go get it now so you have some of it done, that way you wont be discouraged to start when the baby is out. Trust me im a huggge procrastinator and if you put it off you might never go.

Go for it!!! There was actually two girls in my CNA class that were pregnant during the program! They did fine! If you feel you shouldn't be lifting patients then dont!!! Im just letting you know its totally do-able while being pregnant.!!!
