State Skills Test: Which skills did you do?

by ~NS67~

I’m finally done with my CNA course & clinicals, yay! I’m sending in my application for Certification Testing today (I was told it was approximately a two to three week turnaround).

Our State Skills Test requires you do TPR, B/P, Ht, Wt, I&O plus 5 other skills.

Which skills did you have to do for your State Skills Test?

Thanks

What state are you in? I'm in NC and we only have to do 5 skills. Everyong has to do the washing hands skill and a meaursement skill(BP,Pulse, Ht,Wt, etc)but only one meaursment skill. Then the other 3 were picked randomly. I had washing hands, BP, feeding, fingernail care, and ROM on shoulder and arm. I hope this helps. Just relax and when you are testing, just think about it as if you were really helping someone and don't think of it as a test.

Good Luck

whoa you have to do a lot of skills! In MD we only have to 5. I got handwashing (given), counting respirations, feeding pt who cannot feed self, denture care & bedpan.

I'm waiting to take the state exam. I tested off on 40 skills in my clinicals including TPR & B/P.

Thanks for your replies! I’m in UT. Our instructor told us we would have to pass off all V/S, Ht, Wt, I&O plus 5 other skills… I wasn’t sure I heard her correctly so I asked her again, and she said ‘yes, that’s correct…’

I was hoping to get an idea of what they generally pick for skills I appreciate all your responses! I’ve been watching & re-watching the CNA skills videos on YouTube… some good, and some not-so-good, but by and large helpful

Thanks again!

For California, handwashing was a given, plus 4 other skills were required. All are easy, if you did everything correctly during your clinical rotation then you should be fine! Relaxxxxxxxxxx

Congratulations on finishing up your schooling! Good Luck to all who still have to take the exam, and let us know how you're doing.
