Hey everyone! My name is Liz and I'm new to allnurses.com.

I'm extremely excited because at the end of this month, I am finally going to be starting the CNA program at my local community college. Ever since I was a little girl, I've had my heart set on becoming a nurse. My long-term goal is to become an RN but I have heard from numerous people that getting trained as a CNA is a very good stepping stone into the healthcare field, so in the meantime I will continue to work up to my main goal. I've done extensive research on what the cna career entails, but I really would like to hear from some of you personally on what your experiences are with being a CNA and what you believe are the pros and cons of it. Also, I know you can be hired on with hospitals, LTC facilities, home health care + more, so I would love to hear which one you work at and what you enjoy most about it. Thank you all so very much!
