Should I call the Better Buisness Beauru re: my school

by srkerk

The saga of the CNA course from hell continues...

The LTC facility where we (my class and I) were having classes and our clincals failed their Medicare audit...Guess what??? We don't have anywhere to go but on campus at school (I got to University of Texas). Since our class is supposed to be done next week and the last classes were supposed to be "hands on" what are we going to do? Sit and lecture for 4 hours????? Not to mention or state exam is 2 weeks away! I haven't even learned how to give a patient a shower yet!

How did the school NOT have a backup plan? How did this happen? I am thinking God is sending me a sign or something. Everytime I try to go back to school, it never works out or something comes up. Maybe he is trying to tell me now is not the time for school or nursing is not what he wants me to do. I don't meant to bring up religion on this board, but this is how I feel. I hope I do not offend anybody.

We paid $1,200 for my paperwork (with my SSN on it) to be lost a million times by the office - never to be found, not be told when classes are cancelled, and then this?

My mom told me I should call the BBB, but I just dont know if I am wanting this fight. I want my money back, I did not pay for this. How am I suppose to pass the state exam????????????????????? This all just doesn't make sense to me.

I am so sorry I am so cranky when I post, this CNA course has been a disaster since day 1 and I am ready to throw my hands up in the air and walk away. The office has not been helpful at all, they return my phone calls either...

Our instructor told us if we had a problem with the class (which thankfully I didnt) that we were first supposed to discuss it with him. Have you spoken to your instructor about your concerns? If you do not get anywhere with them, than go to the program director, and then contact the Board of Nursing. Following the chain of command is the best way to get something done. Sorry you're having trouble with your class, I know that must be extremely discouraging & stressful. If nursing is in your heart, than I wouldn't give up. Good luck

That is so horrible...you should call your state health department, since your school has to have a license to teach the course through them...and Dont be discouraged !!! Maybe god is trying to see if you are strong enough to stay on course and fight for what you really want!!! Keep at it...don't let them do this to you or your classmates who are probably just as upset,,,Maybe there is another school in the area that is teaching CNA classes that can help you with your clinicals....Make the phone calls, and if they can't give you an answer ask them who they think you should contact. I hope this works out for you and Dont give up....

I would call your State Health Department too, that is very uncalled for and you have paid your hard earned money to attend this course. It could be a sign or maybe not. Maybe it is just you were in a bad CNA course. Don't give up on your nursing!!! Good Luck with everything!!!
