Question re CNA Vocation

Since you have been volunteering for Hospice you probably could just go ahead and try to get a position with them. You don't have to start out in a LTC facility or hospital. Most just start working in these places because they either had that goal in mind, they can make more money, or they exhausted all resources before choosing.

I would certainly ask about a position where you are currently volunteering and see about that. There are many HH agencies out there as well. Just keep an eye out and an ear open. Best wishes!

I don't know much about home health or hospice but if you have been volunteering for hospice it seems like you might already have a "foot in the door". By the way, My grandmother began working as a CNA at age 64 and was awesome! The supervisor put her on a floor that did not have much heavy lifting and where the residents were able to do more for themselves. She worked for several years and the residents and staff loved her. I think after getting certified as a CNA you can get trained as a HHA (Home Health Aide) which is quick, about 2-3 days I believe. Then you can work in home health care. Good luck to you!!
