Phlebotomist

I'm getting ready to take a phlebotomy class while waiting to go to lvn school in California, after reading some things I am wondering if this is still a good idea. If you are a lvn can you do all the same things a phlebotomist can? if you are licensed in California is it good in another state, like Washington? I am so confused by all this...i don't want to take the class for no reason! PLEASE HELP

Hello, boogurll! I’ve never met a nurse who regretted good venipuncture skills. Education is never wasted. If you learn this part now, without the pressure of school, you will have one less stress when you are in school. And you will have a source of income.

I agree with the previous poster, school is never a waste. As far as being certified in another state. You would have to contact that state to see what their requirements are.
