Well, I finally turned in my 8 pg. application to what seems like a really classy nursing/retirement home. The next day, the lady calls me back and she seems to really like me and wants me to come in for an interview this friday. She mentions that on my application I marked the part time box, so she tells me that they don't give part time shifts to new employees. They reserve some part time shifts for nursing school students that have worked there for a while.
I do understand, they spend a lot of time and money training people and they wan't them to really be there and be committed, but I'm on the fence. I was really hoping to ease into this slowly working a couple days a week. My kids are 5 and 7 and have never been left at a day care center, and my husband is probably not going to love having so much child care responcibility. My shift would be 2-10. My question is, is this normal for ltc's?
