online cna training??

With a clinical component in a nursing home, does this sound like a good idea?
I am thinking of starting this as a business but just not sure how people will welcome it. The students will do the theory part and tests online, we will have a one full day of lab, and then maybe 3 days clinical in a nursing home.

Please any suggestions, advice or critique will be welcome.

Thanks

I would personally never take a class that was online without A LOT of hands on experience. I can't see how anyone would know what they are doing or be confident enough.

I totally agree! And 3 days clinical experience really isn't much time to get proficient and comfortable doing your skills.

How many days clinical would you suggest?
There would also be a lab component for practice and check off.

Thanks for your 2cents

In my class we had 7 days, not to say that's the perfect amount. It depends on the person but I think with the more practice you get the better, safer, and more confident you'll be with your residents/patients.

My class was two weeks and we only had 3 days of clinicals. I think it would kind of difficult to learn certain skills online though...like vest restraints, gait belt transfers...I don't know.

Yes, such a program would be welcomed. Remember you must provide at least 16 hours "hands-on" training and a minimum of 75 hours general training. You should also research the requirements for your state.

I think CNA programs should require at least 80 clinical hours, 16 hours lab, and 50 hours general skills education.
