Re: NYC CNA's
I posted this on another Board but thought I'd put the update here, too being that I had negative things to say about Allen School previously.
Tonight was the last night of my CNA Course! Although, as much as I may have complained, I am a little sad

. I am going to miss my teacher, and my classmates. BUT, we are probably going to bump into each other for another month. We start clinical's April 6Th - April 9Th, and from then on, its time to Pre-Test, then off to State Boards.
I am convinced that it was not entirely the school that irritated me-- but the students. I am also proud to say that with the combined help of my class, we were able to "fight" for reform in this school. The entire staff will have a meeting on Saturday and come up with a strategy to fix the things that are wrong. In addition, the clinical instructor is going to be Taped, so that students (possibly) and teachers can have an OFFICIAL clinical standard for state board prep. We were also extended an additional week to practice our skills with a qualified instructor (Free of charge).
I am pretty excited to start my clinical rotation and I will let you all know how it goes.
Clinicals don't start for another 3 weeks. So technically, I have
3 weeks to go to remedial (practice) classes, watch videos, and study for the Board Exam!!!
In between that time, I may attempt to get my
CPR Certification as well because I noticed that alot of facilities require this now for employment ($60 Certification fee).
So:
1. Three weeks till clinicals start.
2. Clinicals for a week. April 6 - 9Th.
3. Pre-Test the following week.
4. Board Exam ASAP.
Technically, I won't be Certified and Employed until
May -June..
