New in Michigan

Hey everyone! I'm taking a CNA course in January with no prior experience in the field. I've an eye to working at this while I do nursing school, though in my area there is a 3 year wait to get into programs after you finish your pre-reqs. I'm sure, especially after reading, I'll find the work fulfilling, challenging, hair-pulling and rewarding all at different times. Kind of like being a mom..to lots and lots of people!

Any support, advice, chit-chat or general "what are you thinking??" is welcome!

tia,
Daul

Good for you. I am also from Michigan. I have some good news about waiting three years. It is usually much shorter, because people drop out of the waiting list. Some people get sick of waiting and go do something else, some change their minds, some have babies and so on. Congrats and welcome to nursing.

I'm doing almost the same thing: I'm starting a CNA class this month with the hopes to go on to become a nurse.

I really have no healthcare experience, but I am a bit nervous as to what the semester will entail. I'm hoping for the best, and I am excited to start.
I know the work will be considered grueling and what not, but I feel that everyone in the healthcare field make a difference, even if it's tiny.

Happy new year! :hatparty:
