Re: My State exam is Saturday...and I need some encouragement please!!
I just took mine on Tuesday and passed! My advice is to take your time!!! It really helps to imagine you are in the facility where you did your clinicals, and that it's a real resident. I know I'm one that rushes when I get nervous, just keep reminding yourself to slow down and think everything through. Before you tell the tester that you are done, look around, recount the steps in your head to make sure you didn't miss anything. The girl I was partnered with did her skills first, and she failed right off the bat for forgetting to wash her hands after the first skill (pulse). It was so hard as a patient to just lay there while she finished the entire test knowing that she had failed. But it also helped me, when it was my turn to do skills, when I was finished I would put my hands together before recounting the steps in my head, and once I was sure I had done everything, my hands together was a reminder that I still had to wash them before I said I'm done.
Good luck to you! It's not as bad as we all think it is, just take your time, don't rush, and you'll do great!
