moving states with cna liscense

I currently live in Arizona, and am getting my CNA certification in a couple weeks. Unfortunately, I plan on moving to California only a few weeks after that. Do I have to retake the test in California or since it is so new do you think they would help me out at all? And once I'm there, I wouldn't even know where to go to sign up to take the test. Please help!

Default Re: moving states with cna liscense
I am sure it is different for each state, but I moved from FL to Illinois right after I got my CNA license, and I was able to transfer it. Try looking online for a nurse aide registry or something like that for California, and that might tell you how to get your license transferred. For Illinois, I had to send for a background check from the state police, then when that came back, I had to send the results of the background check along with my application and a copy of my Fl license to the Illinois department of health. It all took several weeks, but finally I was added to the state registry.
Good Luck!
