I've never worked in MA but if this is for first CNA job, your best bet is to probably put "Negotiable" in the box where they ask for your desired salary.

Can you talk to any of the CNAs who currently work there and find out about how much they make? The pay rate seems to vary from facility to facility.

I don't know any one working as a CNA. I did talk to a woman from a home health agency and she said her CNA's make from 12-18. I know I would be on the lower end but don't want to short change myself if they ask what I am looking for. I am not going to be working for a home health agency, I decided to go w/LTC and don't know if the pay would be different. Would I be crazy to ask for 15 so that maybe I will get 14?

working in LTC I was offered around $10 hr... plus night differential and wknd differential. They won't pay more than that... but this is RI .... I'm right over the border so I'm thinking it might be close to that. I decided to get into a hospital and they pay is higher. Plus you get to do more.

Thanks! I would love to work in the hospital! Do you have to have experience in LTC first? I have several friends that are Nurses and they said LTC pays more than hospitals.

well I worked for only a few months in LTC in RI and was hired at the hospital here and get paid $4 hr more at the hospital. Plus I am able to perform blood draws, finger sticks, ekg's, etc. I can also move around to different floors and specialties.
