this just upsets me..

hello everyone, Yesterday registrations began for cna classes. I was so excited and eager to go first thing to sign up! yesterday, I went to go sign up but spent so much time driving to the place, when I got there I didnt have time to go in and register because I had to work. Anyways it was nothing, I was like oh well I guess I can register tomorrow considering I have or should I say "had" from August 3 to September 1, but today when I went around 3pm, guess what classes were FILLED!! what? filled? ALREADY? Anyway, I'm so uspet and saddened. I was really looking foward to starting classes in september. I had no Idea classes would fill so fast! now I have to wait another 3 or 4 months They put me on a waiting list with 9 other people so I guess I'm the 10th person. Is there any hope that some people will not show and I will be able to replace their spots or is that not likely? please someone, I know I'm just venting but I want some advice please! now I guess I will just have to return to my horrible job knowing that I will be there for a while longer. They are offering classes at a tech school but the price is much higher and even I dont know if they are full yet.. I just feel like it would be better If I took my classes at the community college.. now I dont know what to do.

Hey, I've been there too ((hugs)). Anyway, I think it is definately possible you could get a spot. I mean it's hard to say statistically without knowing the number of toatl enrolled student, but anything is possible. It's a bummer if you do have to wait, but then again, there will probably be some 'AAAHA!' moment if you don't get in, where you realize that you're glad you had to wait.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I had the complete opposite experience....I waited till the very last day and was able to get a slot at my local CC. Granted the course is pretty expensive, but it was convenient for me. I'd like to think that everything happens for a reason but if you're unwilling/unable to wait the 3 or so months you may want to explore other options. In fact I believe there's a free online course in this forum somewhere. It won't necessarily 'certify' you, but it'll give you the info you'll be learning in the course. Best of luck.

Good luck hun! I know the waiting is killer, I have to wait till march, and then hope I don't get screwed over, or it could be longer! Just don't get discouraged, time goes by faster than you know and before you know it you'll be studying your butt off.

Yeah, I'm sure the time will pass by fast. but hopefully some people will not show and I can take there spots! if not, I talked to my friend today and she told me that she will be going to the same school in Jan. not for cna but just for some college courses. So thats a plus, feels good to have friends close by. but although I am very upset, I thinking I'm starting to feel a little better.. thanks guys!!

there is a possibility that you could fill a spot just keep in touch with them. not sure what state you live in and if they offer this but some of the places around here that hire cna's offer a cna course through their company, its usually free because you will be working there and its quicker. I've been a cna for 4 years and im getting ready to take my lpn boards next week, if you are planning on going on being a cna first is a great advantage! good luck

Nothing is impossible! I know plenty of people who got in at the last minute. Even if you don't, keep trying. It'll happen one day!
