Congrats on returning to school! I just finished my CNA course (50 hours) and I’m currently finishing up the rest of my clinicals this weekend (fri, sat, sun...) I will be taking my State exam in a couple weeks… it’s never too late to return to school… I returned to school at the age of 40… I’m now 42, almost done with my Nursing prerequisites and will be applying to Nursing school spring of 2010
Best wishes to you!! You’ll do GREAT!!

I so wish I was in your shoes and started this road when I was 20 or 23 even, I'm 29 now and even though I wish I was younger when I started this I'm glad that I am finally doing it now. It's never too late!

Good Luck!

Congrats on getting it together that early (age 20). I start my CNA program on August 1st and it is 20 Weekend days so it extends out until October. This journey is a good one and I encourage you to continue. I am on the RN journey myself and I just have one semester left before all my pre-reqs are done. Good luck to you and as long as you get back on track, you are good, because life IS a hiccup!

I am starting really late in the game LOL I'm 56 years old (male) but I feel the same way too - actually starting to get into this nursing stuff "for real" now after taking other classes (prereqs for nursing school). I need to get some actual clinical experience working with patients, so I'm excited about this, and a wee bit nervous at the same time. My class is ten weeks long - should be done by the end of September with it, then the CNA exam......

OMG, you're too funny! You're so young and getting started early. I'm in my mid 30's and back in school for my 2nd degree which happens to be nursing.

The only advise I can offer you is to stick with your goal and don't let anybody discourage you from attaining your dreams. Watch what you say because the facilities you will be doing your clinicals have walls that have eyes and ears! If you have any doubts ask your instructor, that's what they're there for. Good Luck!
