I quit my good paying job to attend a CNA class. Anyone else?

you sound just like me! I have worked out of my home as a nurse recruiter for the past 10 years! I am currently applying for LPN at local Boces here in NY. I am also looking into Patient Care Technician course at local Community College. I am so desperate for a change. I wish you a lot of luck ! change is hard sometimes but I am willing to make the change or I am going to be miserable and life is too short! godd luck! Atlanta gal

Me too! And guess what? Sitting in that stupid office chair all day was worse for my back than lifting people all day as a CNA! Lol.

If I never saw another Quickbooks application, or took another bill collector's phone call for the rest of my life, I'll be a happy girl.

Yep. I only had the job for 8 months, but it was miserable. I was a telemarketer, usually making $14-22/hour. It was a good.. easy work, holiday's and weekends off.. able to get off whenever I needed with fairly short notice for as long as I needed. My coworkers were great. No benefits to speak of, but definitely the best paying job I've ever had.

For the last 2 months of it, I was constantly hoping to break a leg on my way down the stairs so I wouldn't have to go in.. lol. Saying the same thing over and over, a hundred times a day.. either people were great and I felt bad selling them crap, or people were awful and made my day a nightmare. After ruining so many people's days every day, I wanted to make them feel better for once.

So I quit.. I've got just 2 weeks left of my CNA course, and I can't wait to find a job where I can feel good about a day's work.. even if my feet do hurt and I make less money.
