I posted earlier about losing my job...

I just wanted to say that i got a job working at wal-mart. I think what i am going to do is work there and try to find a home health agency to work at part-time. I don't think i am cut out for the nursing home setting. But i don't want my certification to go to waste. And i like doing the job. I just don't like trying to satisfy all the people that i needed to. Anyway just wanted to give an update.

I am happy you found another job. Something is better than nothing. I don't feel I am cut out for the LTC setting either. I was once terminated because the nurse didn't do her job. I got blamed for her absence. So I understand completely. In my opinion, home health is a lot less stressful mentally and physically. Good Luck

There are indeed many jobs that are not as demanding as a CNA in a Nursing Home and fact also pay more. I stay with it also part time because I love it. Beware you cannot do Homehealth 100% in a 100% Home Health enviorment and keep your license as a CNA. There are CNA jobs that are in the Home Health enviorment and you get credit as such. Make sure you check with your state and know the requirements so you can to keep your license current. It may not be for you - but part-time sometimes it can pay that electric bill and why waste all you have already done to come this far. Good Luck!

Home health is much easier than ltc facilities.. you actually feel like an extended part of the family. When you get your schedule at Walmart, which is an awesome place to work, you will be all set and even if you pick up one client a week you'll feel great about the work your doing. Good luck and congratulations!
