Help, I Have a Phone Interview!

I recently had my first phone interview for a hospital near my house, so I know how nervous you feel! A good way to prepare is to have all the questions you think they might ask you written out, and some short responses to them. Common ones are, "why did you choose this hospital", "what are your strengths/weaknesses". They might also ask about previous work experiences. Mine was only about 15-20 minutes long and it was not as bad as I pictured it out to be! My advice, BE YOURSELF! Ha, and this sounds silly, but when I had mine I made sure to use the cordless phone because when I get nervous I have a hard time sitting still, so being able to walk around with the phone while interviewing actually calmed my nerves! They may ask why you became a CNA, what are the positive things you can contribute to this facility, why you chose this facility (of course, it is because you need a freaking job...). You can say that you chose this facility because it was recommended by a friend (if this is true, be prepared to mention who it is), it is close to where you live, therefore, because it is close, you can get to work on time, shouldn't be a problem with traveling, etc. They may ask if you plan to continue your education, even ask that you share something negative about yourself. To that, I would respond that I am too hard on myself when I really want to care for my patients properly. Some ask about extracirricular interests, as well. Best of luck to you!
