Failed state skills, retook yesturday

I am a nervous wreck! I took my skills test on the 13th for the first time and the results were this:

Handwashing: PASSED
Bedbath: PASSED
ROM shoulder: PASSED
Blood Pressure: PASSED
Ambulation with a gait belt and walker: FAILED

Not knowing for sure what I did wrong to fail this, but I do remember the scenerio being to leave the client in a wheelchair in her room. And I know I didnt lower the bed to the lowest level after leaving her in the wheelchair, so I think this may be what I did wrong. I was devistated!! I got a 91% on the written. I was so scared about the bloodpressure and then failed on what I thought would be one of the easiest!

Anyways, I am freaking out again because I retook the skills yesturday and am very unsure of how I did. This time I got handwashing, denture care, ambulation with walker, occupied bed, and measure and record oral fluid intake. The oral fluid intake one I am especially worried about because this is subjective. You hafve to eyeball how much the person drank out of 2 240cc glasses and 1 300cc glass. I am pretty sure I was off by about 10ccs after thinking of it. Anyways, I am sorry for rambling! I am just so worried because I need this by Oct. 1 for nursing school and I am so scared of failing again. I am in Oregon, so Headmaster grades the test.

hi I also live in Oregon and took my test on the 20th. I failed apical pulse, because I could not hear the mans heartbeat anywhere on his chest!! Neither could the observer or the actor. We had 35 min. to complete 5 tasks and I search for his heartbeat for 22 mins!! all i had left was perineal care and could have done it in time!! I am extremely upset!!! the next time i take my boards again it will be the same observer and actor!! i am scared it will be a repeat!

Wow, and the evaluator didnt say anything about that?? Seems just a bit unfair, but at least you will know your 5 tasks right? Good luck to you too!

congrats!! I'm surprised tho that they didn't give you an overall score sheet with your results on what exactly you missed to fail.

Yeah, they just leave testers to guess why they failed.
