I'm sorry to hear that. I would say to just keep taking bp on all your friends and family for practice so that next time you test you'll be much more comfortable with it. Good luck and keep pushing on!

In my course they made us practice BP's on every student (27) and then do vitals on our residents every morning for additional practice. I haven't taken the test yet, but I certainly hope that's enough!!!

I have been a cna for over 15 years and the best advice I can give you is to take your time and practice. You might find it beneficial to go to find an instructor with a duel stethoscope so that they hear what you hear and practice taking blood pressures. This way the instructor can tell you where you are going wrong. Many nursing homes that do cna classes have this typ of equiptment. Check it out. The first time I took the cna test I did not pass one area. The second time you will be more prepared. Now you know what to expect so it won't be as hard!!!

Don't feel to bad. My friend passed all her skills with flying colors, but while handwashing she dropped one of the paper towels in the floor. Not thinking she bent over and picked it up. She even said normally she wouldn't do that and they still failed her.

I can understand you! I had the same feeling when I did my BP on exam date. Let me tell you, I did BP twice. First time, I could not hear anything may be because I did not set up correctly or something. Then I ask the evaluator to let me do 2nd time, and she allowed. So, next time, I could hear something but not very clear. So, I wrote what I have heard, and I guess it was okay if I passed my skill exam.

But yes you have to practice a lot... Make sure you set up a blood pressure cuff correctly. And also even my instructor said to inflate BP cuff till 160, I usually do it till 180... I wish you all good luck!!! Practice a lot, however, maybe for a measurement skill you will get another one... (hopefully)..
