Do you think?

by ChunLiomyRn2b Platinum Member

Do you think a hospital will hire me BEFORE I finish my PCT 2month program? I'm in Orlando.

I have read so many posts regarding becoming certified and then not finding a job for months afterwards. That scares me considering I just invested a chunk of change for this program. It doesn't start until Jan 20th. After that, I have only 2 pre-req's to complete and then I can apply to VCC ADN program, probably sometime in 2010.

I am currently unemployed and volunteering at a local hospital.
So do you think it's possible to get on board before completing my PCT?

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Some places will, and some places won't. All you can really do is call the facilities around you and tell them that you are taking the course and are interested in working there. I got hired before my class was done, on the condition that I pass the test.

I had the same experience as yousoldtheworld. Yes, some do, some don't. Depends on their needs, the market for CNA's, whatever...

It never hurts to apply -- you don't lose points because they say no.

Go for it.
