Re: Crying........
Sadly stuff like you mentioned happens. Where I and my friend tested, we got really sweet test admins who were so calm, helped wherever they could, (mine held the blood pressure so I could see it and wouldn't have to worry about it, she just came over and said I'll sit on the bed and hold it for you) and if we realized we forgot a step, she asked us what it was and gave us credit for it without having to start over.
I think what happened to you stinks. Is there anyway you can contact her to find out what exactly you missed? Our class instructor said you can't miss the bold and once you say "ive finished this procedure" you can't go back (happened to a friend, the test admin was nearly as upset as she was). They also said other then the bold each step counts for a certain number of points, or, she also said its up to the individual test admin to decide if what you missed was in their opp bad enough to fail. It does leave a lot of room for interpretation.
Does anyone know if theres a way to get your sheets? Many of us wanted to see them to see what we missed but we just got a faxed sheet back that said pass or fail?

Re: Crying........
yes I got the sheet back saying that I failed because I didnt "do" the back area,by not washing the back meant I also didnt lay the dummy on its side,or give the back massage with lotion,so it took all those pts off! my biggest upset is yes I forgot the back, other people as I said were given reminders several times by the same tester also ANYWAY I look at it I cant see how not washing a back even compares with safety issues SUCH AS NOT locking the bed and wc and flipping me AWAY from you. it just really broke my heart and I am not one to yell unfair, but come on..... thanks for responding I appreciate your feedback,I will retest again, repay the money, cant help but wonder if money has something to do with the high fail rates......

Re: Crying........
OH MY: I was just grazing through some of the posts tonight and this one caught my eye. I have been a CNA for 15 years and am now in RN school, but the RED flag for me was the student that PULLED the sheet under you. The worst thing any CNA can do is create skin tares!!! I dont care if she passed, you will ultimately make the better CNA for being so vigilent! I know personally as well because I have a daughter with CP that came VERY close to death because of a necrotic bedsore that was caused by a skin tear. Just another note, a little of the subject but in the family of insecurities for me. I took a Dosage Calculations course and recieved an F, I cryed "Enternally" throughout the last exam because I KNEW that it didnt matter what I recieved on the last exam, but you know what I took it anyways. My point here is the Dosage Calculations teacher E-Mailed me and changed my whole outlook on life. She said " The students that pass with A's the first time Scare me, they are to self-assured and would never second judge an Dr. order, you one the other hand was just scared to get one answer wrong. She said "If I had a choice I would want you as my Nurse, because you would second check. :tbsk: I recieved a A+ this semester and ironically I didnt study much at all. CONFIDENCE is so important. Not to ramble on but I dont know what state your in but when I retook my course 2 yrs ago in Maine we didnt do a practical test at all. We did throughout the course but the final was a 200 question test. Pass or Fail. Feel free to private text if you need any support. | | 503 members
