At my facility, PCT's do phlebotomy, straight cath, and wound care as well as the same nursing assistant duties.

PCT's are CNA's who work in hospitals and have additional training and more job duties than a CNA in LTC.

From what I've been able to gather from asking questions of my own, there is a National PCT exam out there somewhere but it is not required to work as a PCT. Hospitals seem to be more interested in your skills and/or being certified in EKG and Phleb. The only place I have seen hospitals ask for PCT's especially who have been through a training program is in NYC and even there I don't know if they care if you're actually certified as long as you've completed a training program.
