Also I'm a new CNA graduate with no experiance in the medical field what so ever.
Do you mean all shifts make 11 an hour? I don't know any places that don't offer shift deferential. The most being for 3rd shift. Most places don't offer different for weekends though.

Yes, I asked the HR and she told me that all shift make $11.00 and no weekend diff. It's a 50 bed LTC facility. I don't know any one in my area that works at a nursing home, so I have no idea what the normal rate is. A friend of mine works at the local hospital as a dietry aide. She told me that the starting rate there was $13.00 and they get shift and weekend diff.
I just don't want to be short changed as a new CNA..... I'm so confused!?!

I think it depends on where you live. I am in the Phoenix area of Arizona. I am going through clinicals right now and taking my state boards next week to be certified. I was told by my instructor and my school to not accept anything less than $12 an hour. Than again, cost of living is out of the roof out here.

When I fill out applications, and it says the desired rate of pay, I usually put "open" or "negotiable" and let the interview run to see how you can best go about telling the employer what you want in pay.

Hope that helps!

I used to get pay 12.86 week days, pm shift. On weekend it's 13 something. and anything over 8 hours is $19 i think.

I made 9.00 at assisted living facility in central ohio in 2008..peanuts as far as I was concerned and not worth it. the low pay was due to the facility being 'Assisted Living'. The reality was this through, 75% of the residents there should have been in a regular nursing home instead of AL. Well, that's business, I guess. Resident's were great through. Just not worth the pay.
